North Asia to PNG Service Enhancement – Every 10 Days

MBf Carpenters Shipping is pleased to announce the enhancement of North Asia to PNG service effective from M/V Mia Schulte 1808S and Soochow 1810S. Both services will interface each other giving a superb frequency of every 10 days to both Port Moresby and Lae ex main China’s ports. In addition Nansha and Ningbo will be added in both services with transit time to Lae and Port Moresby at 8 and 14 days respectively. With this enhancement, MBf Carpenters Shipping offers a superb frequency of 37 sailings per annum connecting North Asia to PNG main ports.

Change of Terminal Operator in Lae

On 1 February 2018 SPICTL commenced operations in Lae as the new terminal operator. The advice of that change was given to us just 4 days  prior to commencement, and SPICTL’s new tariff was provided shortly thereafter. We have been reviewing SPICTL’s tariff since receiving  and have tried to engage in negotiations with SPICTL to reduce the cost increases in their tariffs however so far have been unsuccessful. Consequently we are left with no option  but to increase our local charges in Lae to cover these increased costs. With immediate effect we  will apply the following 2 changes:

Jakarta Service Enhancement

We are pleased to announce that we will commence direct Jakarta port calls on our New Guinea Shuttle Service (NSS) with effective from Szczecin Trader 1707S. We are accepting containerized as well as breakbulk cargo from Jakarta on this service. Please find the port rotation as per below: Singapore – Port Klang – Jakarta – Port Moresby – Lae – Rabaul – Madang – Singapore

Changed Of Schedule Due To Mt Tavurvur Eruption

We regret to advise that Helene Rickmers V 1411S had decided to evacuate from Rabaul port. She’s scheduled to berth Rabaul port on 1st of September. In view of the chaotic situation due to eruption of Mt Tavurvur, the port of Rabaul had ceased operations till further notice. Helene Rickmers V 1411S will proceed to Madang with eta on 2nd September. We will re assess the situation in Rabaul and advise further next week.
